Zaijian Jaranilla is set to do a movie with Vic Sotto

Zaijian Jaranilla recently signed a contract with Star Cinema where he is slated to do a movie next year. The child actor, who became famous for playing the role of Santino in the highly successful primetime drama May Bukas Pa, was all smiles when he revealed to reporters following his contract signing with Star Cinema that he is set to do a project on the big screen with Vic Sotto. “Magkakaroon po ako ngnew movie. Makakasama ko po si Bossing Vic Sotto. Excited na excited na akong makatrabaho siya.”

The nine-year-old boy confessed that although he is very honored to have been given the chance to do a movie with Vic, he also feels nervous every time he would think about doing scenes with the veteran comedian. Zaijian has yet to meet Vic, but the boy shared that he is a big fan of “Bossing” whom he watched in the Enteng Kabisote movie series.

But before they team up, Zaijian and Vic go head to head in the Metro Manila Film Festival box office race. Zaijian lent his voice to the lead character in the Star Cinema entry RPG Metanoia, while Vic paired up with Bong Revilla for the film Si Agimat at Si Enteng. Though both Vic and Bong have proven to be huge box office drawers in the annual MMFF, Zaijian said he is confident that RPG Metanoia will put up a good fight. “Hindi naman ako natatakot. Sana manalo ‘yung movie namin. Proud ako kasi itong RPG Metanoia ang first 3D animated moviesa Pilipinas na gawang Pinoy talaga. Marami ring matututunan ang mga bata rito, gaya ng pagiging magalang at mapagmahal sa mga magulang.”

Zaijian also talked about his experience dubbing for RPG Metanoia which he described as a much simpler job compared to acting in front of a camera. “Medyo madali siya gawin kasi boses mo lang ‘yung aarte. Susundan mo lang ‘yung itinuturo sa iyo. Kung dapat galit, kailangan galit talaga ‘yung boses.”

He shared that like his character Nico in RPG Metanoia, he is also fond of playing computer games. “Naglalaro ako ng Warcraft. Tsaka mahilig din ako mag Facebook. Sana magkaroon ng ako iPad sa Pasko.” But he said he is not like his character in the movie who went through a drastic attitude change after being addicted to computer games. “Si Nico dahil sobra siyang mahilig sa computer games, hindi na siya nakikipaglaro sa mga bata sa labas ng bahay. Nung maabot niya ‘yung mataas na level dun sa computer game, naging mayabang siya. Sinasabi niya na kaya na niyang manalo kahit wala ‘yung mga kaibigan niya.”
