Comedy King Dolphy was not able to make it on the red carpet premiere of his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Father Jejemon,” his life partner Zsazsa Padilla revealed on Wednesday.
In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Padilla said that Dolphy is not feeling well that’s why he missed the premiere. The Divine Diva, however, stressed that the Comedy King will definitely be present on the MMFF parade.
“Hindi siya makakarating kasi medyo masama ang pakiramdam niya ngayon eh. Pero for sure makakarating siya sa parade,” she said.
Padilla, who is also a producer of the comedy film, said she is very happy that the movie will finally be shown after it hurdled the 2nd review of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
She also divulged how happy Dolphy was upon learning the news. “Noong nalaman nga ni Dolphy 'yon eh, sabi niya naiyak daw siya sa tuwa. Tuloy na tuloy na,” she shared.
Meanwhile, MTRCB Chair Grace Poe-Llamanzares also expressed her delight with the outcome of MTRCB’s 2nd review.
“Nagkaroon kami ng friends of the court, ibig sabihin hindi naman sila nakakaboto pero puwede silang magbigay ng expertise. Ako’y natutuwa kasi kahit iyong mga bata ay puwedeng mapanood ito,” she said.
