KC Concepcion is really happy Piolo Pascual has opened up about their relationship

Kahit na si KC Concepcion ay nagulat sa pag-amin ng boyfriend na si Piolo Pascual tungkol sa kanilang relasyon sa The Buzz kahapon. Hindi raw talaga niya alam na magsasalita na ang kanyang boyfriend. “Nasanay na nga ako na hindi siya nagsasalita and I really appreciate his statements and words. It’s just easy to say something ‘yung sinabi niya ida-divert‘yung tanong o conversation. Wala akong ine-expect at all. Thank you, PJ,” ani KC. 

Speechless nga si KC nang siya naman ang tinanong ng kanyang The Buzz co-hosts hinggil sa pag-amin ng boyfriend at hindi niya naiwasan sabihin na, “Kung alam n’yo lang ang dami-dami naming pinagdaanan ni PJ.Andami naming pinagdaanan and I was really surprised that he was very honest.” 

After daw ng interview ni Piolo nagyakapan daw silang magkasintahan backstage at wala nang nasabi sa isa’t isa dahil emosyunal sila pareho.  “Wala kaming napag-usapan. It was very sincere. Kung sincere ‘yung tao kung totoo ‘yung sinasabi niya o pinagdadaanan. And I always said this before when PJ talks, when he likes to do something, napag-isipan na niya ‘yun. Andaming pinagdaanan ng puso niya, ng utak niya, ng katawan niya, ng spiritual life niya. Ang dami niyang pinagdadaanan to reach a certain point sa lahat ng ginagawa niya, so I’m just… thank you PJ for being honest today.” 

Bukod pa rito ay lubos na pasasalamat ang ibinigay ni KC sa mga taong nagmamahal sa kanila ni Piolo. “I’d like to thank everybody sa nagmamahal sa amin ni PJ sa lahat ng suporta at supporters. He’s a really a good guy… a really, really good guy.”

Toni Gonzaga reveals she had a heart-to-heart talk with Mariel Rodriguez

Sa The Buzz kahapon ay ikinuwento ng host na si Toni Gonzaga na nagkaroon na sila ng pagkakataon ni Mariel Rodriguez na magkita noong Sabado, January 29 at nakapag-usap ng apat na oras. Ito rin ang una nilang pagkikita matapos mangyari ang away nila noong nakaraang taon. Inaasahan ding magsasama ang dalawa sa upcoming noon-time show sa Kapamilya network na kinabibilangan din nina John Estrada at Randy Santiago. 

Sabi nga ni Toni, ang pagpayag ni Mariel na makatrabaho siya ay may magandang mensahe. “We’re starting off a clean slate,” ani Toni. Sinabi rin niya na bago ang interview niya sa The Buzz ay nag-text siya kay Mariel para sabihin na kung anuman ang sasabihin niya ay manggagaling sa puso niya.   

Sa unang pagkikita nila, paglalarawan ni Toni, “’Yun na yata ang pinaka-awkward moment sa buhay ko kasi habang papalapit ako sa private room pine-prepare ko na ‘yung sarili ko kasi hindi ko alam kung ano’ng mangyayari.”�

Very casual daw nang magkaharap sila at nagyakapan. Feeling nga raw ni Toni ay parang bago silang magkakilala dahil hindi raw nila alam kung paano sisimulan ang pag-uusap. Pero later on ay nag-open up sila sa isa’t isa at nagkaiyakan.  “Sabi ko sa kanya (Mariel) siguro ‘yung pinakapangit lang may ibang tao na na-involve like ‘yung media, maraming nasabi against the both of us,” ani Toni na sinang-ayunan naman ni Mariel. “We ended on a good conversation and everything was cleared. I said everything in my heart and (siya) everything na nasa puso niya.” 

Malaking biyaya raw na mapili silang host ng upcoming noontime show kung kaya’t nararapat nila itong pagbutihan at hindi nila iyon magagawa kung meron silang gap. “Sabi ko nga we’re given this big blessing and I think it’s a big responsibility for us na pagbutihin ang trabaho natin and to set aside our personal emotions, to start a new, clean slate lang. Maayos lang. I’ve worked with her for six years now.” 

Kuwento pa ni Toni, sinabi sa kanya ni Mariel na siya ang kauna-unahan niyang naging kaibigan sa showbiz na nagsimula nang nasa kabilang istasyon pa sila. Ani Toni, masaya siya para sa kanila ni Mariel dahil binigyan sila ng chance na magsimula ulit.

Ayon kay Charice,  "Lagi ko namang pinapatawad lahat ng tao na nagsasabi ng against sa akin eh. Apologize ako kay Ogie Diaz na may nasabi ang fans na hindi maganda sa kanya. Hindi rin maiiwasan ng fans na magsabi ng mga ganung salita. Sa lahat ng mga fans ko iyong tunay na Chaster, hindi magsasabi ng masasakit na salita."

PJ:  I’ve come to a point in my life na mas gusto kong magpakatotoo regardless of what people might say, regardless of people’s judgment or opinion, i guess because the person deserves it. I guess because i just owe it to myself, i owe it to the public and i owe it to that person.

Cha: Piolo this is your chance. Be honest. Kayo na ba ni KC Concepcion?

PJ: Yes.

Cha:  Piolo that is something everybody wants to hear. And i am so happy for the both of you. How do you feel? It’s liberating isn’t it?

PJ: It’s very liberating, siguro what I’ve to deal with is a sorry I just have to expound on this. The reason why I never admitted naman or not elaborate it because may pinoprotektahan ako. You know how it is, I have a son na hindi mo makasama. Ayaw mong mapariwara ‘yung bata, ayaw mong magkaron ng ibang reaction kasi bata ‘yun, he’s only 13 years old. But I think I decided at this point na kung ano man ang magiging reaction ng anak ko from here, we just have to deal with it.

Cha: And you’re at age and you’re son is of at age as well.

PJ: And siguro para matigil na ‘yung mga nagpaparinig kay Kristina joke!

Cha: Teka muna na-guilty naman ako kasama ba ako diyan, hindi naman di ba?

PJ: Hindi naman, marami kasi ang nagsasabi na may gusto raw sa kanya pero I guess they just have to know that we’ve been together. I wouldn't want to watch another interview para may magsabi na may crush sa kanya or gustong makipag-date. I just want them to know that she's taken.

Cha: For how long?

PJ: Since last year.

Cha: Kelan ang anniversary n'yo?

PJ: October 21.

Cha: How did you get her to say yes? Ano ginawa mo?

PJ: It took me 2 years. We’ve been going out for 2 years tsaka na ‘yung detalye pero siyempre that’s one of the best days of my life.

Cha: And how did you feel when she said yes.

PJ: Siyempre na-relief. For the first time in so many years, more than 8 years, I’m getting into a relationship, a commitment, and I plan to keep it.

Cha: Is she the woman that you would like to spend the rest of your life with?

PJ: Siguro hindi naman ako aamin ng ganito o hindi ako magte-take ng risk kung sa tingin ko hindi ko gusto siya makasama habang buhay.

ABS-CBN Foundation breaks Guinness World Record with Kapit Bisig Para Sa Ilog Pasig Run

After more than 22 years, the Guinness World Record for most number of participants in a racing event has finally been broken by ABS-CBN Foundation’s Kapit Bisig Para Sa Ilog Pasig run held in October 10 last year with 116,086 runners registered. The record was previously held by the Bay to Breakers event held in San Francisco in 1988. The 10.10.10 run was organized to raise consciousness for the rehabilitation of the river and its tributaries. Proceeds from the run were used to rehabilitate Estero de San Miguel, one of the five tributaries behind Malacanang that flow into the Pasig River.

ABS-CBN Managing Director Gina Lopez talked about an even bigger goal for this year’s biggest eco-foot race which will be called Run for the Pasig River 11.20.2011. “We want the run every year to be a celebration of joy. We need to break the world record every year. For a country that has been colonized for 400 years, to do this run in magnificence and peace is a great achievement. If we are to do the run again and again, this will be a major force in making the river clean. We got the military, the police, the church, and students involved. It is such an amazing story and I think that is the beauty of it,” she said during the media lunch held last January 28 at the ABS-CBN Foundation building. 

The luncheon was hosted by Juddah Paolo who was part of last year’s event and will continue to be the host for the pre-event and post-event show this coming November. “Last year’s experience was amazing. It was painstaking also for everyone. I was going to all the different schools and giving talks about it. This year, I’ll still be going back to the schools. I told the students I’ll be back every year to give talks. I came to the Philippines with one thing on my mind and it’s to really see the country to its fullest potential and cleaning the river is really one of the steps to start doing it and then after that, we can clean up the streets and the air and this country will be phenomenal. I hope people find it in their hearts to really help the country first before everything else. This country, once it booms, everything will be well,” he shared with Push.com.ph.

One of last year’s race directors was Rio Dela Cruz, who is also one of the more familiar faces in the Philippine running scene. He is known to be part of the reason why celebrities like Piolo Pascual and Karylle are in good running form. The running coach slash commercial model said that while he is currently busy preparing for the 42k Paris Marathon which will be held in April, he will make sure to invite his celebrity clients and friends to the Run for the Pasig River event this coming November. 

Even Gina Lopez implored celebrities to participate and help their cause. “We are a celebrity-struck country. The people idolize celebrities. Whatever the celebrities do, they follow. So if celebrities take the lead and run for the Pasig River, then everyone else will follow. It’s a way to shift mass consciousness. So you people out there whom the people idolize. You people with fans. You owe it to the country to bring your fan base and all the people who idolize you to the path of cleaning our river. If you do this, you can make a difference and we will give your fans and the children of your fans a much, much brighter future. We can do it if we work together,” she said.

The staunch advocate for Pasig River also urged everyone to take a stand and join the run. “Kung lahat ng tao nagkakaisa, nothing is impossible. It’s good for health. We’re stopping all the cars so you wont be near pollution. Come with us. There is nothing in the world that can stand in the face of people united by a noble cause. Kayang-kaya natin itong lahat. Mabuhay kayo,” she said.

Piolo Pascual and Charlene Gonzales, inspirations for UST’s 400th year anniversary commemorative statues

Kilala ang University Of  Santo Tomas as the oldest University in Asia. Kagabi ay isang engrandeng selebrasyon ang ginanap para sa kanilang 400th year. Ang naging highlight ng programa ay ang unveiling ng glass and bronze sculpture na ginawa ni Ramon Orlina na isang world-renowned Thomasian sculptor.

Present sa celebration ang mga UST alumni na sina Piolo Pascual at Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach. Kabilang din ang dalawa sa naging modelo para sa ginawang 10-meter high monument ng kanilang alma mater bilang tribute sa kanilang mga achievements sa industriya. Overwhelmed sina Charlene at Piolo sa muli nilang pagbabalik sa kanilang school. 

“UST has always been an integral part sa buhay ko, yung mga memories and moments that I experienced in UST, dadalhin ko ‘yan habangbuhay. What a wonderful homecoming,” emosyonal na pahayag ni Charlene.

“UST changed my life, because of UST ay nakapasok ako sa ABS-CBN because my friends from Teatro Tomasino made a way for me to enter showbiz. If not for UST hindi rin siguro ako magiging artista,” seryosong pahayag naman ni  Piolo.

Kasama ring dumalo ni Charlene ang kanilang kambal na anak ni Aga Muhlach na sina Andres at Atasha. Masaya at very proud ang magkapatid sa ginawang pagpaparangal ng UST sa kanilang mommy. Hindi naman daw nakasama ng mag-iina si Aga dahil may trabaho ito kagabi.

Ramon Revilla Sr. meets the second batch of ‘Agimat’ boys

Jason Abalos, Enchong Dee, Ejay Falcon, and Jolo Revilla finally made a courtesy call last January 27 to legendary Agimat star Ramon Revilla Sr. at the office of Philippine Recreation Authority where he’s now chairman of the board. The veteran actor fondly recalled his heydays and shared some useful advice about making it big in showbiz. “Ngayon na medyo nag-uumpisa pa lamang sila, remain humble, hindi yung mayabang agad na malaki ang ulo. Wala yun, ‘di sisikat yun. Or else if they let fame come to their head, then it will explode, pagkatapos nun wala na sila. So remain humble and be good to your fellowmen lalo na sa kasamahan nila sa industriya. Hindi ako nagbago hanggang sa ngayon. Hanggang ngayon mahal ko pa rin ang taga-pelikula sapagkat dun ako nagmula,” he began.

The former Senator also commended his grandson Jolo for his previous portrayal of Pepeng Agimat was a huge success. “He’s a good actor now. ‘Jolo, congrats, you’re getting better at it. I hope you also do the same with your upcoming role as Kapitan Inggo.” He then took the chance to remind the boys to never stop looking for ways to improve their craft. “Everybody, I hope you improve more. Huwag kayong magsasawa sa pagpapaganda ng acting ni’yo even though you’re good already. Walang ceiling ang improvement e, everybody has to improve.Kahit awardees sa Oscar, they’re trying to improve their image further. At ‘pag sinabing ang call time ngshooting ay 8 am, be there at 8 am. Huwag maging cause of delay,” he added. 

But most of all, Ramon cautioned them about playing games with women’s hearts. As a certified ladies’ man during his time, he said that it’s too easy for young actors in the biz to be romantically linked to lots of girls. “Eto masasabi ko sa inyong mga pogi, ako ay sobra sa chicks noong ako’y bata pa, hindi maganda, hindi dapat tularan. Maganda lang na, sige gawa ka ng kalokohan, pero in the long run talo ka, madami kang pagbabayaran, so ‘wag ni’yo kalilimutan yun. Yung isa, dalawa [na chicks] ok lang, ‘wag yung napakarami. Sapagkat yung kalokohang ginawa ko nung araw, pinagbabayaran ko ngayon.”

Everyone couldn’t help but laugh though when he also cited his son Senator Bong Revilla as a reformed playboy. “Kaya sinasabi ko kay Senator Bong, ‘Bong tama na ‘yan,’ nakikinig naman (laughs), sapagkat ‘di maganda. Unang-una meron kayo lahat kabiyak na babae. Ikalawa, sagutin mo lahat yun ‘pag tumanda kayo, nagkaanak kayo, ‘di niyo maaring takbuhan yun.” 

At the end of the interview, he assured Jason (Bianong Bulag), Enchong (Boy Putik), Ejay (Pepeng Kuryente), and Jolo (Kapitan Inggo) that he would support their respective projects for Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat Ni Ramon Revilla in ABS-CBN. “I wish you luck. Lahat ‘yan ‘di papahuli sa rating ‘yan. I think people will patronize that the same they did in my movies before,” he stated.

Precious Lara Quigaman says she is luckier one to be marrying Marco Alcaraz

Precious Lara Quigaman told reporters at the press conference of the new fantaserye Mutya that she is already engaged to boyfriend of two years, Marco Alcaraz.

The two are set to wed in 2012 because according to Lara, she needs to give way to the wedding of her sister this September. “Pinagiisipan namin kung May or October of 2012, pero ‘yung sister ko kasi ikakasalthis September sa UK. Kung May kami ikakasal niMarco baka konting time lang ‘yung meron kami to prepare. Baka October na nga lang.”

She clarified that she is not a believer of the “sukob sa taon” superstition, though she knows having two weddings in a family in the same year will be very expensive. “Hindi ako naniniwala sa sukob, pero naniniwala ako sa gastos, ha ha ha! Siyempre tutulungan ko pa siya sa mga gastos. ‘Yung isip ko nakatuon pa sapreparations for her (Lara’s sister) wedding. After that, kami ni Marco at least may one year pa kami para mag-prepare sa wedding naman namin.”

While some might say that actor/model Marco is very lucky to have the Miss International 2005 as his bride, Lara considers herself as the luckier one. “Si Marco kasi parang Papa ko, kahit anong away ang gawin ko sa kanya hindi niya ako pinapatulan. Siya pa ‘yung naglalambing sa akin, ‘yung nagso-sorry. Kapag may ipinabili ako sa kanya, hindi lang isa ang bibilhin niya, marami pa para may iba-iba akong choices. Tsaka kahit hindi ako magsabi, basta alam niyang may gusto ako, bibilhin niya for me. Para sa mga babae ‘yun ang hinahanap namin, na kami ‘yung aalagaan at lalambingin.”

Lara has been working hard for the past two years as part of top-rating teleseryes May Bukas Pa and Precious Hearts Romances presents Impostor, and this year she will play the mother of a young mermaid in Mutya. She explained though that even after the wedding, she will still continue doing showbiz work. But if ever Marco needs to a sexy scene for his job, the former beauty queen said, “Kung meron hindi ko na lang papanoorin para walang selosan. Ha ha ha!”

Jolo Revilla agrees with his grandfather’s advice about being a one-woman man

Jolo Revilla was beaming with pride when he, together with the rest of the Agimat boys Enchong Dee, Jason Abalos and Ejay Falcon, paid his grandfather a courtesy call at his office last Thursday, January 27. Sen. Revilla is also known in showbiz as “Hari ng Agimat.”

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya dahil hindi niya ako pinabayaan. Hindi siya nagkulang sa akin, patuloy [siya] sa pag-a-advice. Ngayon [pinapayuhan] na naman tayo na pagbutihin pa lalo ‘yung craft ko at sinabi nga niya natutuwa siya na anlaki na ng improvement at magaling na ako ngayon,” s.” 

In the Agimat: Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla Sr., Jolo will be featured as Kapitan Inggo, a barangay captain who has the ability to chew, eat, and control bullets. “Mas lalo ko itong mamahalin at ipapakita [ko] na karapat-dapat ang ibinigay sa akin ang titulong ito dahil nakikita [nila] na kaya nating panindindan at pangatawanan ‘yung role na binibigay sa atin. At siyempre nakakatuwa at binigyan tayo ng pagkakataon ng ABS-CBN na gumawa ng Agimat series at asahan na gagawin ang makakaya at siguradong magugustuhan ng manonood.”

Jolo was also a bit sentimental at the courtesy call because his grandfather gave him and his fellow actors some important advice. “Kakaiba ‘yung experience ngayon eh dahil hindi naman lagi sa tuwing nagkikita [kami] may advice,” he shared. 

Jolo highlighted the advice about being a one-woman man. “Kailangan iisa lang. Naniniwala ako don at naninindigan ako don. Hindi naman porke’t kami’y ganito, kumbaga hindi naman sa habulin, gusto ko lang ipagtanggol ang mga [lalaking artista] naman, akala nila babaero. Siguro bakit hindi ninyo subukan? Mababait po kami, mapagmahal.” Sen. Ramon admitted that having had numerous women in his life is a drawback because he was not able to fulfill his duties to all his numerous children. Incidentally, his son, Sen. Bong Revilla, Jolo’s father, was also known for getting linked to his leading ladies. Jolo said that right now, his main focus is his career and he is intent to prove himself in the industry.

Anne Curtis on rumored rivalry with Marian Rivera: ‘Hindi ko siya pinalitan in all fairness’

Anne Curtis couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by her grand launch as the newest celebrity endorser of SM Residences at the SMDC (SM Development Corporation) Grand Showroom last January 27. Not only did she arrive in a Rolls Royce, but she also got to wear a stunning Francis Libiran gown as she dramatically descended a flight of stairs before she was serenaded by Christian Bautista on stage. “I think this is the biggest welcome I had in my career (laughs). Super grand—from the gowns, the car, the arrival, the paparazzi, the cameras… I never felt like this before. As Mr. Henry Sy Jr. said, a star is born and that’s exactly how I felt tonight,” she said in an interview with the local press.

Anne was definitely given special treatment, fit for a Hollywood star, leaving a lot of people wondering if this would cause conflict between her and Marian Rivera whom she reportedly replaced as SMDC’s top image model. Rumor has it that Marian’s contract was no longer renewed because of the negative publicity concerning her alleged attitude problem, which may reflect on the company’s image. To which Anne replied, “Hindi ko siya pinalitan in all fairness, I was just added to the SMDC family. I think to use replacement is such a… I don’t think it’s a word we should use because I did not naman replace her.”

Despite the intrigues being thrown their way, Anne stressed that there’s no bad blood between her and Marian. “Yeah, kami we’re fine naman. There has never been an issue so I don’t think anyone else should make an issue out of it. I think all of us from the industry, anything that comes our way, we all just consider it a blessing to us because things aren’t just handed to us. We all work for it. So I think it’s only the people who aren’t in the industry who try to make an issue out of it.”

When told that she could possibly be the next biggest endorser in the country, all Anne could say was that she’d try her best to fulfill what’s expected of her. “Of course there's pressure. I have big shoes to fill in actually because she is and still is the number one endorser in the Philippines, and she's the one who set the standards for SMDC residences. So I have big shoes to fill and I hope I can meet the expectations of others as well.”

Kim was very happy with her fans’ all-out support for her decision to be paired with as many Kapamilya actors as possible. When told that most of them seemed to be in favor of her team-up with Jake, she cheerfully stated, “Totoo? Talagang may bet pa kayo ha! Siyempre masaya naman din ako and base naman kasi yun sa story ng Your Song. Kung may nakaka-appreciate ng tandem namin ni Jake, salamat. Actually may mga fans nga na nagpunta sa set that time, ang pangalan nila Jakerly.” 

The young actress also agreed that it would be nice to be paired with Jake again since they’re both comfortable with each other. Although Jake has been very vocal about his relationship with Melissa Ricks lately, Kim stressed that it wouldn’t be a problem for her. “Kung magkatrabaho man ulit kami ni Jake, siyempre hindi naman magseselos si Mel. Magkaibigan kami and alam naman ni Mel na kapag trabaho, trabaho. Tinutukso ko nga silang dalawa, kinikilig ako sa kanila. Alam naman niya na magkahiwalay yung personal tsaka trabaho.”
