Coco Martin rues skipping indie movie on Abu Sayyaf

Actor Coco Martin is sad that he will be unable to do a new indie movie with award-winning director Brillante Mendoza due to a conflict in schedule.

The actor, who is dubbed the Prince of Indie Movies, said he had to beg off from the new movie, which will reportedly tackle the Abu Sayyaf. Sid Lucero is set to replace Martin in the film, according to reports.

"Actually nalungkot ako nagkaroon ng problema sa schedule about dito sa taping. 'Yong project namin ni direk Dante talagang sobrang hinayang na hinayang ako kasi ang tagal kong hinintay 'yon at pinaghandaan pinagpaalam ko ng maayos kay direk Dante," the actor told Showbiz News Ngayon.

Martin, who made his mark in mainstream via "Tayong Dalawa", just finished the series "IDOL."

Currently, he is busy taping for ABS-CBN's upcoming series "Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin" with Maja Salvador as his leading lady.

He is also part of box office film "Dalaw" with Kris Aquino as the lead star.

In the interview, Martin vehemently denied that he no longer wants to do indie movies.
"Marami pa namang chance para gumawa ng indie," he said.
