Jewel Mische says the chance to work with Gerald Anderson is a ‘big bang’

Jewel Mische said on The Buzz that it was a great experience to have worked with Baron Geisler for the New Year episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya last Saturday. Jewel played a woman distraught by failed relationships and then falls in love with a transsexual (played by Baron). “Ang husay-husay ni Baron. Very intense. Hindi ko alam kung sinong ibang artista ang puwedeng gumanap sa role na ‘yon. He was very effective. He was really good at naging maganda ang bawat eksena dahil tinutulungan niya ako and he was such a gentleman,” Jewel described.  

 

The former Kapuso star recently transferred to the Kapamilya network and revealed that it was not an overnight decision. “Nagbuhos ako ng oras, pinag-isipan kong mabuti kung ano ang dapat na hakbang, ang gagawin. Nagdaan ako sa proseso ng pananalangin at gusto ko talagang magsimula.” She added that she wanted to have a new environment in her showbiz endeavors. “Kung minsan gusto mo talagang magsimula kailangang bago lahat bagong kapaligiran, bagong mga tao bagong mga kapamilya. If you wanna start fresh you need a new environment at ginawa ko lang kung ano sa tingin ko ang makakabuti para sa aking career.”  

 

The actress related that since she transferred to ABS-CBN, she has felt very welcome. “Hanggang sa mga oras na ito wala akong ibang naramdam kundi pagtanggap, pag-aalaga, pagrespeto sa bawat taong nakilala ko. Hindi ko pa po nakilala lahat pero ‘yung mga taong nakasalamuha ko na sa mga oras na ito they make me feel so good and sobrang palagay ng loob ko na magiging maayos lahat.”

 

For her next big project, Jewel is set to team up with Gerald Anderson, which she described as something she did not expect to happen really soon. “Wow. It’s a big thing. Gerald is Gerald. Ang gusto ko lamang po ay mag-umpisa sa career ko. Hindi ko naman inasahan na mag-uumpisa ako with such a big bang. It’s a gift.”  

 

She added that she is aware that her onscreen partnership with Gerald might be met with opposition from Kimerald (Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson fans) but Jewel is hoping that they will understand that she is just doing her job. “I was able to reach out (to Kimerald fans) by giving a message to them through an interview.Sinabi ko po na sana maintindihan nila kasi po nagtatrabaho lamang ako and unawain na lang po nila at tanggapin. Parang tulong na lang po nila sa akin dahil nagsisimula po ako and it’s 2011 now and tulong na lang po talaga nila sa akin. At napakabuti po at napakabait nina Gerald and Kim.”

 

Aside from Gerald, Jewel said that she also wants work with other ABS-CBN leading men. “It would be very challenging to work with John Lloyd (Cruz) na alam ng lahat na magaling,” she began. “It would be really interesting to work with Piolo Pascual dahil wala na siyang kailangang patunayan pa sa kanyang acting capabilities.” She also named Coco Martin and Derek Ramsay as her dream leading men.

 

Jewel also mentions that she wants to work with Kapamilya actresses Judy Ann Santos, Bea Alonzo, Kim Chiu, Angelica Panganiban, Shaina Magdayao and Toni Gonzaga.

 

The new Kapamilya star said that she still has a long way to go abut she is willing to walk the extra mile to be better in her craft and please her supporters.
