Showbiz writers name faces to watch for in 2011

Whenever a new year enters, it has always been a habit among entertainment media to name celebrities who, in their opinion, are most likely to succeed.

This 2011, the showbiz press have already spotted 3 stars who they think are promising and acquire brilliance.

Among them is Kathryn Bernardo who plays Mara in the remake of the television series “Mara Clara.” Also on the list is Jessy Mendiola who is the lead star of “Sabel.”

According to veteran writer and star builder Ethel Ramos, Mendiola is someone who is fit to be a leading lady in a movie.

Moreover, they see genuine talent in Gerald Anderson’s newest leading lady, Jewel Mische. For the entertainment press, Mische is right in transferring to ABS-CBN since they believe the network could give her enough support to harness her skills.

They also see potential in Neil Coleta, who already has a fan base because of his television commercial. Coleta is a ward of Becky Aguila, who also happens to manage Valerie Concepcion.

Also included on the list of promising stars in 2011 are Zia Quizon, Alex Gonzaga, AJ Perez, Joseph Marco and the sister of Anne Curtis, Jasmin Curtis.

Aside from the rising stars, the entertainment journalists also see Enchong Dee, Erich Gonzales, Empress Shuck and Rayver Cruz’s stars shining brighter.

Amid all these predictions, the veteran showbiz writers, however, maintained that the real measure of one’s prominence is if the stars’ home networks will give them ample support and if their movies will become box-office hits. –Report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
