Drama actress Angel Locsin expressed delight over the fans' overwhelming support for her TV series "Imortal" which had a good play-off in the prime time ratings recently.
“Natutuwa naman kami dahil nakikita naman namin na sinusuportahan ng mga tao ang programa na ginagawa namin,” Locsin said.
"Imortal" is set to be more exciting these days as the lead characters Lia (played by Locsin), and Mateo (played by John Lloyd Cruz), who come from different clans of mythical creatures, clash. Locsin portrays a werewolf who has fallen in love with a vampire, played by Cruz.
According to Kantar Media/TNS, "Imortal" garnered a 23.6% percent viewership on December 31, compared to GMA's "Beauty Queen" (12.5%).
Searching for justice
In contrast to the good news, Locsin said she remains disappointed with the justice system regarding the case of a close relative who was murdered last November. The actress ranted over the slow development of the case.
"Nakakalungkot. Namatayan ka na nga, hinahanap mo na nga 'yung pumatay, hinahanap mo na nga 'yung hustisya, tapos may ganun pang hinihingi sa iyo," Locsin said.
"Paano pa kaya 'yung mga walang wala talaga? Paano maso-solve ang krimen?” she added.
Meantime, Locsin said she and her family will try their best to push hard for justice this 2011.
In fact, she revealed her family is now taking action against the death threats they received earlier.
"Nagsampa na kami ng kaso but medyo mahirap kasi...Alam mo na ang justice dito sa atin. I’m sorry, magpapakatotoo lang ako. Mahirap 'yung sitwasyon natin eh. Kaya siguro marami ring unresolved na kaso rito sa atin dahil hindi lahat kaya magbayad,” she said.
Two months ago, Locsin's cousin, the 28-year-old Rachelle Marie Colmenares Salvador, was stabbed dead in the latter's residence in Carcar, Cebu. Initial reports had pointed to the victim's 44-year-old husband, Fernando, as the main suspect.
