Piolo's son becomes instant hit after 'ASAP' appearance

After rendering a surprise song number for his father's advance birthday celebration last Sunday, the 13-year-old son of hunk actor Piolo Pascual has caught the attention of the public.

According to Pilipino Star Ngayon columnist Salve Asis, Iñigo became famous instantly after his surprise video song number on musical variety show “ASAP.”

The video went viral and, the report said, Iñigo topped Yahoo’s searches a day after the “ASAP” episode.

Last Sunday, Pascual was singing “I Want To Hold Your Hand” when his son’s video performing the same song was flashed on a big television screen. Holding back tears, a visibly surprised Pascual joined his son in singing the Beatles song.

After their touching duet, the son greeted his father, “Happy Birthday Pa. I Love You.”

Pascual said it was the best birthday gift. "Grabe. Hindi ko ine-expect. I was just on the phone with him kanina and he was on his way somewhere. Wala naman siyang nabanggit. He's a blessing sa buhay ko sobra. I never expected na one of these days, makaka-duet ko ang anak ko. Kahit man lang sa video."

The video of their duet has been posted on YouTube and has reached at least 14,000 views as of posting time.

Fans expressed their desire to see more of Iñigo as they urged him to follow in the footsteps of his actor-singer dad.

Amid calls for him to join show business, Pascual, however, is still standing by his decisionnot to allow his son to enter the industry.

Piolo marks 34th birthday

Pascual, who turned 34 today, was born Piolo Jose. The bankable actor is known for his head-turning physique and acting skills.

Pascual has been paired with the country's best leading ladies like Judy Ann Santos, Angel Locsin, Claudine Barreto, Regine Velasquez and Bea Alonzo.

The Philippines' "Dreamboy" starred in hit films "9 Mornings", "Bakit Di Totohanin", "Paano Kita Iibigan", "Till There Was You", "Love Me Again: Land Down Under," and others.

Pascual was also part of popular television shows like "Sa Piling Mo," "Walang Kapalit," "Lobo," and "Lovers in Paris."

Aside from singing and acting, Pascual ventured into film production, with "Kimmy Dora" as his debut project.

The "Noah" lead star is romantically linked to actress-host KC Concepcion.
