Kristine Hermosa talks about falling in love with Oyo Boy Sotto

After finally admitting to being a couple earlier this year, everything is all set for the upcoming wedding of Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto in January 2011. Although they have chosen to keep mum about the exact details of their nuptials, the couple has reportedly invited 150 guests to witness their Christian union at an undisclosed beach somewhere in the country.

Their announcement finally dispelled rumors that they have already secretly tied the knot and that Kristine is already pregnant. In the December issue of StarStudio magazine, wherein she and fiancé Oyo Boy are on the cover, Tin shared how their friendship blossomed into romance that finally led them to the altar. Unlike Oyo, Tin revealed that there was no attraction when she first met him on the set of the 2004 Metro Manila Film Fest entryEnteng Kabisote: Okay Ka, fairy Ko The Legend. “Alam naman niya yun. Hindi ko siya na-notice talaga. Kaya wala akong masasabing first impression sa kanya,” she said. The couple, who at that time were both in relationships with other people, admitted that things were just platonic between them, even when they started hanging out together with a group.

It was only much later in their friendship, when Kristine’s marriage to Diether Ocampo was finally annulled after barely a year of marriage, that Oyo mustered up the guts to ask for Tin’s number. “Nung nagpalitan na kami ngnumbers, may narinig ako na parang sumigaw ng, ‘Wooo!’ Sabi ko, Ano yun?’ Nagulat ako, siya pala yung nagsisigaw kasi nakuha niya yung number ko,” she shared.

Both active in the Victory Christian Fellowship community, Kristine shared that it was not hard to fall in love with someone like Oyo Boy, but she took her time processing her feelings for him because she did not want people to think she was just on the rebound. “Love ko ito, mabuti siyang tao. So never siya talagang naging rebounddahil lang wala akong someone [special]. Eh kaya ko naman na wala. Kaya ko namang walang dine-date or boyfriend,” she explained in StarStudio Magazine’s December issue. Oyo formally proposed last September 9, on Kristines 26th birthday.
