John Lloyd Cruz is celebrating the success of his Star Cinema film My Amnesia Girl, which is now on its third week run. “Siyempre nadodoble yung tuwa ko kasi as it is parang talagang after nung movie napanuod namin, lahat kami masayang-masaya. Nung nagpro-promote ako na sinasabi kong hindi talaga namin sasayangin yung pera niyo, totoo yun kasi sa panahon ngayon, ‘di ba hindi na mura ang sine, P170, tapos bibili ka pa ng popcorn at soft drinks. Ang gusto kong iwasan na marinig yung sinayang namin yung pera nila,” he shared during the My Amnesia Girl victory party held last December 9 at the ABS-CBN compound.
The 27-year-old actor admitted that his girlfriend Shaina Magdayao has yet to see the romantic comedy, but blamed it on the fact that he is too shy to watch it with her. “Alam ko hindi pa niya napapanuod pero madalas ko nga sinasabi sa kanya. Kasi nung una, inaantay niya ako na sabay kami manuod. Until nagka-time na kami, nag-back out naman ako kasi parang hindi ko kaya na andun ako sa cinema tapos may mga taong iba, hindi ko mapaliwanag eh. Siguro kung kasama ko yung ibang cast at staff baka puwede pa, pero kung kaming dalawa lang, nahihiya ako eh,” he admitted.
Recently, John Lloyd reportedly gifted his girlfriend of over a year with an expensive designer bag worth half a million pesos. This was not denied by the My Amnesia Girl star, although he refused to go into detail about the bag, which was rumored to be an Hermes, a high fashion brand from Paris, France and was supposed to be his Christmas gift for Shaina. “Hindi naman importante yung presyo eh. Basta meron akong binigay sa kanya na dapat hindi ko ibibigay kaya lang, hindi ko alam paano nalaman ng mga tao. Napilitan na tuloy ako na ibigay (laughs),” he shares. Lloydy also shared that he was in very high spirits this coming holiday because of his brothers who flew in from New York. “Magpapasko kami dito lang, sa Manila lang. For the first time in five years, nakumpleto kami ulit,” he shared.
